Who Is Prince Chi-Chi?
Prince Chi-Chi is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel — the official mascot of Bougie Dad Media, and the household's most opinionated resident. He didn't apply for the job. He was simply born into it, the way royalty tends to be.
His full title, as far as we can tell, is self-appointed. But it's stuck, and honestly, it fits.
Cavaliers are known for being affectionate, a little dramatic, and deeply committed to comfort. Prince Chi-Chi embodies all three. He has never met a lap he didn't consider his birthright, never encountered a bed he didn't feel qualified to review, and never once questioned whether he deserved the good stuff.
That confidence is, frankly, very on-brand.
How Prince Chi-Chi Became Part of Bougie Dad
Bougie Dad has always been about one idea: buy fewer things, buy better things, and actually enjoy them. That philosophy doesn't stop at the edge of the family — it applies to everyone in the house, including the one who can't read the reviews himself.
Prince Chi-Chi became the natural extension of that. If the whole point of this site is separating genuine quality from marketing noise, who better to help make that case than the household member with zero patience for anything mediocre? He doesn't care about packaging. He doesn't care about brand names. He cares whether a bed is actually comfortable and whether a chew actually holds up — which, it turns out, is exactly the same standard we hold every product on this site to.
He just applies it with more attitude.
Life as a Royal
A typical day for Prince Chi-Chi involves several critical duties: supervising breakfast preparation, conducting a thorough inspection of any newly arrived packages, claiming the best patch of sunlight in the house, and napping — extensively, and with visible pride.
He has strong opinions about most things. He has almost no opinions about being told no.
What he does have, consistently, is good taste. Ask anyone who's watched him choose the softer of two blankets, or install himself in the center of the nicest chair in the room the moment it's vacated. Prince Chi-Chi doesn't settle. He's never had to.
